District projects

The Zonta Club of Mornington Peninsula Inc. is one club within District 23. Along with the international projects we are involved with, we support (through fund raising and working-bees) the following District 23 Support Projects:

Birthing Kit Foundation:
An annual Birthing Kit Assembly Day is organised with assistance from the local community.
This program provides birthing kits to women in developing countries. Each kit contains a pair of latex gloves, a 3-metre square sheet of black plastic, soap, gauze, string and a scalpel. $5.00 per kit covers the cost of the equipment, the transport and contributes to education of usage of the kit.

Breast Care Cushions:
This program makes and distributes Breast Cushions to women (and men) who have had or are about to have breast surgery. Breast cushions are provided to local hospitals and are also collected to distribute to various Melbourne and Metropolitan hospitals, where Breast Care Nurses pass on the cushions to their patients.
